Kara Gillon

Areas of Expertise: Environmental and natural resources law, Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Western water issues
Kara works on a variety of state and national Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act, and other environmental regulatory and litigation activities. She specializes in water and endangered species issues in the Colorado River, Rio Grande and other western river basins, focusing on projects to protect and restore stream flows, riparian habitat and river deltas. As part of this work, she participates in the U.S.-Mexico Binational Advisory Group for Information Exchange and Advice on the Colorado River Delta and the Middle Rio Grande Endangered Species Collaborative Program. She also works on other natural resource issues in the western U.S.
Kara Gillon holds a B.A. in Classical Humanities from Georgetown University and a J.D. from Vermont Law School. She is the author of several articles addressing endangered species and water issues.
